Plant description:

Willow-leaved justicia or Black Malabar nut is an erect, smooth medium branched shrub, up to 1.5 m tall, the leaves are lance-shaped, up to 14 cm long and up to 2.5 cm wide, tapered at the ends. The flowers are bluish-white, borne in 4 to 12 cm long spikes, at the branch apex,s or in leaf axils, about 1.5 cm long, with purple spots. The fruits are capsules, club-shaped, smooth, about 12 mm long.
