Common Hog Weed (Boerhaavia diffusa) is a spreading, prostrate herb, grows up to 75 cm., long trailing branches, Commonly found in deciduous forests, as a weed in plane areas, wasteland, roadsides etc. leaves are reddish green, oppositely arranged, simple, obtuse, ovate. Flowers are pink, 4 mm long, 4 to 10 together, found either in axillary or terminal, as umbels; flowering and fruiting is in between August to December, and seeds are sticky thus it can propagate through birds or animals.

Medicinal uses:
to treat hemorrhoid, cardiac problems, skin disorders, eye diseases, leucorrhoea etc., leaves are appetizers, useful in joint pains; Seeds are tonic expectorant, useful in lumbago, scabies, and good blood purifier.
