It is grown as a weed, undershrub, grows up to 1.5 m tall, branched, color whitish or greyish. Leaves are long, leathery, lance-shaped, sessile, 1 to 7 cm long and 0.3 to 2 cm wide, a tiny point at the apex, the margin is entire, toothed at the tip. Flowers are purplish, bell-shaped,up to 5 mm in diameter, arranged in in clusters at branch end, flowering season March to August. The fruits are small, white, linear, hairless, seeds are single.
Medicinal uses:
Inflammations,bronchitis, psoriasis, swellings of joint, arthritis, rheumatism and neurological diseases cough, piles.

Antipyretic, analgesic, laxative and nervine tonic.
