Pithraj Tree or Sohaga (Aphanamixis polystachya) is a deciduous tree, growing up to 30 m tall. Leaves are pinnate, up to 60 cm long, elliptic. Flower is borne in clusters in leaf axils, up to 7 mm in diameter and oblong. The capsule is about ovoid, deep yellow or orange in colour when mature. Seeds are grey- brown and occur in May to September.
Medicinal uses: to treat cancer, worm infestation, wound, sleeping problems, liver problems, eye diseases etc.
