Panchagavya Ghritam

Panchagavya Ghrita is an Ayurvedic medicine, in the form of medicated ghee, used as a medicine for snehakarma a preparatory procedure for Panchakarma for the treatment of insanity, fever, neurological and psychiatric disorders, epilepsy, liver diseases such as jaundice.

The word ‘Panchagavya’ refers to the five different components of cow products such as Ghee, Milk, dung, urine and yogurt.

It calms Pitta and kapha

Panchagavyam Ghritham is prepared according to the reference of Charaka Chikitsa Sthana and Ashtanga Hrudaya Chikitsa Sthana.

Ingredients used in the preparation of Panchagavyam Ghritam

• Gomaya swarasa – Prepared from cow dung
• ksheera – cow milk
• Dadhi – cow cheese
• Mutra – Cow urine
• Ghritham – ghee
