Mustharishtam

Mustharishtam, also known as Mustakarishta, is a traditional Ayurvedic fermented liquid preparation. It is primarily composed of the herb Musta (Cyperus rotundus), along with other ingredients like water, jaggery, and various spices. The fermentation process is believed to enhance the therapeutic properties of the ingredients.

Mustharishtam is valued in Ayurveda for its digestive and carminative properties. It is commonly used to address digestive disorders such as indigestion, flatulence, and abdominal bloating. Additionally, it is believed to support liver function and may be used in liver-related conditions.

As with any Ayurvedic medicine, it is important to use Mustharishtam under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. They can provide specific dosage instructions and advise on the appropriate duration of use based on an individual’s unique constitution and health condition. Always consult a healthcare professional before starting any new herbal remedy or supplement.

Mustarishtam is mainly prescribed for the treatment of digestive problems like indigestion, gastro-enteritis, vomiting with diarrhea, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, anorexia, and Malabsorption syndrome.

It is prepared under the reference of  Bhaishajya Ratnavali, Sahasrayogam.
