Plant description:

It is commonly in Himalaya region, Up and Deccan peninsular areas, it is a twining shrub, numerous branches, the stems are cork-like, bark deeply cracked, glabrous. Leaves are ovate, acute, and glabrous on top. Flowers are yellow, in lateral cymes, often small hairy. The roots are the main part of the plant used in the preparation of Ayurveda medicines, which is buff colored or white in color.

Medicinal uses:

Pacifies the Vata and Pitta, to induce the functions of reproductive system – to improve the seminal quality, enhance eyes, liver functions, and treat fever, constipation, colitis, bleeding disorders, bronchitis, and spermatorrhoea.

Chemical contents:

Stigmasterol, sitosterol, tocopherols, leptadeno, hentriacontanol and amyrin.

 Medicinal properties:

Stimulant, restorative, whole body nourishing property.

It is used as an ingredient in the preparation of  the Ayurveda medicines like:
