Jungle Jack-Anjili is an endemic in the Western ghats area tree, grows in high altitudes ranging from 1000 meters, it is semi-tree in places with good rainfall. They can reach a height of up to 35m. The leaves are simple, alternately arranged, spiral, clustered branch end; stipules lanceolate, up to 2.5 cm long, tawny hirsute; petiole 1.3 to 3 cm long, stout, subterete and hirsute; ovate to elliptic, apex sub-acute sometime shortly acuminate, base rounded, margin entire. Fruits are thorny peripheral, yellow in color, and resemble a jackfruit, seeds are many, about 1m in diameter. The timbers are useful in furniture making.

Medicinal uses: To treat diarrhea, pimples, and indigestion.
