Jasmine is an evergreen vine or shrub reaching up to the height of 3 m, the leaves ovate, up to 12.5 cm long, opposite or in whorls of three, simple, glabrous, The flowers are pure white, in clusters of 3 to 12 flowers at the branch end, blooming l throughout the year, strongly scented, open at night. The fruit is a berry, purple to black, 1 cm in diameter.
