Scientific names: Ipomea Reniformis / Centella Asiatica

Name of Indian Pennywort in different languages:

English: Centella, Gotukola, Mouse-ear wort

Sanskrit: मण्डूकपर्णी (mandukaparni) means Rat’s ear.

Hindi: Brahmi booti

Malayalam: മുത്തിൾ -muththil, Kudangal-കുടങ്ങൽ, Mandookaparni- മണ്ഡൂകപർണി

Plant description:

Centella Asiatica or Indian pennywort is a slender, herbaceous, perennial creeper, that grows in tropical wet areas. The leaves are pale green, kidney-shaped or round, smooth and long-stalked, glabrous, around 2 to 5 cm in diameter, the stems are slender, green to brownish-green in color, flowers are small and white or pinkish in color, born in small, rounded umbels, below 3 mm in size.

Medicinal uses:

It is used in the treatments of  hepatitis B, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, Skin disorders, and urological disorders, to increase memory power, intelligence, it can control Vata disorders, relieve gastric ulcers, phlebitis

Pentacyclic Triterpenoids, Asiaticoside, Brahmoside, Acetic Acid.

How to prepare medicine:

It can be consumed as a curry.

Collect leaves and slice into small pieces and add some shallot, mix together pour some lemon juice on it  and keep it for 10 minutes and consume, It is capable of increasing HB level
