Plant description:

Acalypha Indica – Indian nettle or three-seeded mercury is an annual plant commonly found throughout India, in the plane areas, grows up to 1 m. tall, leaves are abundant, green, ovate-elliptical, in a long stamen and many branched. Flowers are green and seeds are white and small pod contain lots of seeds inside.

Medicinal uses:

Wounds, Skin diseases like scabies, eczema, psoriasis, ringworm, skin fungal infection, and also used in the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis, digestive disorders, respiratory problems such as bronchitis, asthma and pneumonia.

Chemical content:

kaempferol, Acalyphine, acalyphamide, Triacetoneamine, cyanogenic glycoside, quinone, sterols and alkaloids.

Medicinal Properties:

Antibacterial, Anti-venomous( Neutralize snake venom) 

The herb may cause intestinal irritation.

How to prepare medicines with Indian acalypha:

The juice extract of leaves is mixed with lime and applied to the skin to cure Ringworm. Fresh juice of leaves mixed with coconut oil and salt is better for Rheumatoid arthritis pain and to cure Scabies. Powdered leaves are used to cure infected wounds.
