Goanese Ipecac or Nilanarakam – Naregamia alata is a prostrate herb, commonly in roadsides, grasslands, fields, etc., leaves are three-foliolate; leaflets 1.5 to 2.5 cm long and 0.6 to 1.2 cm wide, obovate, laterals oblique, apex obtuse, petioles 1.5 to 2.5 cm long and winged. Flowers are borne leaf axils, solitary, lanceolate. Petals are five, white colored, 1.5 to 1.8 cm long. Capsules are 4 to 5 mm in diameter, ovoid to sub-globose.
