Broken bones plant is a deciduous medium-sized tree that grows up to 12m tall; the bark is light brown or dark with corky lenticels. leaves are bi-pinnately arranged and very large, and about 90-180cm. The leaflets are 2 to 4 pairs, ovate or elliptic, and glabrous. The flowers are reddish purple outside, and pale pinkish yellow inside, fruits are flat capsules, length up to 1, tapered at both ends, woody, seeds very many, flat, and white-winged, which is helpful to fly in the wind to get germinate
